Managed to get 2 shots good enough for closeups before he got too spooked and flew around my head showing its annoyance at me before buzzing off somewhere else. Anyone that can ID this?

Although the title looks like a line from Peter Pan, I actually meant the line as uttered by Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country.

Ohmigosh! I'd be too scared of bees to know its name! This one is a nice close-up & it looked like grasping onto the twig real tight! Bet Moggie would love this shot too....

take it easy on her, divemuster. she probably screamed first, got the jitters...and now cant tell the diff between a beetle and a bee. and yes, i love this shot! can't tell what kind though...
You're right Moggie. Let's not bee-little her. I think she meant to say bee-tle .. just the "tle" was drowned in the screaming.
