Predators Above & Below

Predators below such as jacks and tuna prey on the anchovies from below. The anchovies attempt to flee towards the surface where the seagulls are waiting.

Both big fish and birds feed.

Man will also feed. Here they drag a line hoping to land the big fishes.

vicious cycle, eh?

amazing set of shots, DM. can actually see the anchovies flipping out of the water!

Vicious but an eco-cycle nonetheless. It is a daily occurance that sustains life.

Btw, those flipping thru the surface are the predators as they break surface in their charge thru the shoal of anchovies. It would be great if I could catch pics from underwater as well.
